|
It is possible that despite all the beautiful plants and flowers that one has planted right within his garden, there still seems to be something missing. Amidst the entire lush, the backyard is still incomplete. Many landscape designers believe that a garden is not yet completely done without the addition of the water fountain. Therefore, for those who would like to revamp and glam up their gardens, placing a water fountain will definitely do the trick.

A fountain does put in beauty and elegance into the garden. It serves as the focal point of any open area and draws attention to its magnificence. However, a water fountain does not just serve as a work of art at the middle of the garden; it also provides calming effects that makes it more pleasing, not just to the eyes but to all senses as well. The sound of the flowing water and the sight of the water as it glistens because of the light create the tranquil atmosphere. A water fountain can really generate wonder and add a new breadth to the garden.
A water fountain, being a work of art in itself, plus the flow of the water from it, can really be a picturesque sight already; however there are still ways to make the most of it. For instance, a water fountain can be twice enjoyed if it is planted on a place where it can be seen whether from the inside of the house or from the garden itself. Thus, in deciding on where to place the fountain, it is best that it is placed near a window, so that even those people who do not go to the garden often can see the beauty of the fountain just by looking out the window.
The height of the plants around the water fountain should also be staggered and systematically placed to give better visual interest to the fountain. Many landscape artists believe that taller plants should be placed behind the fountain, the medium-height ones should go around the base of the fountain and the smallest plants placed in front. It is best if the plants used have different colors and different textures; in doing so, the fountain will certainly be a vital part of the garden’ scenery.
Likewise, the breath-taking reflection that comes from the water fountain can also be maximized by putting more reflective objects that would catch the watery reflection and reproduce it; making it appear that there are is more water at hand than the actual. Reflective objects would include glass or stainless steel sculptures, wind chimes and other garden decorative ornaments. It is worthy to note that the reflection does not just occur during daytime because of the sunlight. At night, the water fountain can also become dramatic because of the lights that one can use to illuminate the fountain. Lighting can definitely spice up the effects of the fountain that anyone is going for.
With all these being said, it is not anymore a difficult job to give life to the garden. The green leaves and the colorful flowers can be enhanced with the help of the ingenious idea of a water fountain.
