The Ups and the Down of Solar Fountains
|
Water fountains have evolved and they are now upgraded into something that will be more practical and more user-friendly for the owners. Long ago, water fountains needed pipelines to be able to circulate the water needed. Then there came the electric pumps which took the place of the pipelines. With the use of such electric pumps, water can be recycled, and there was no more need for the direct line of pipe to get water. And now, with innovation and high technology, solar pumps are already available. Through these solar pumps, there is no more need for wiring, only energy from the sun can keep the water circulating. The water fountains which make use of this kind of pumps are those commonly called as the solar fountains.

Solar fountains have their own advantages and disadvantages. One advantageous feature that these fountains have is the fact they cost lesser to maintain. There is no more electric bills that may cost too much for the owner because of the electric pumps that the fountains used. But despite the fact that solar fountains are empowered by the sun, they appear as beautiful as the other fountains, and the difference between them is difficult to depict. These fountains still look good and majestic, and add color and life to the flat and unexciting garden. They can still catch the attention of the sight-seers and amaze them with the enchanting current of water from it.
When working properly the solar fountains also give off the same revitalizing experience given by other fountains. The calming sound of the water that flows from it is still as gentle to the ear of those who can hear it. They still relax the senses and give a feeling of oneness with the nature.
The solar fountains are also considered as outdoor water fountains, because of where they are usually placed – outside. This is mainly because the solar panels used by the solar fountains need to be directly aligned where it will be exposed to the sun all through out the day, in order for it to work in full capacity. This then becomes one of the disadvantages of this type of fountains. Because the solar fountains are powered by the sun’s energy, there is more probability that fluctuations in the flow of the water may occur, and water movement may sometimes vary depending on the intensity of the sun. Another issue would be its efficiency during the night. Unlike the electric operated fountains, this type of fountains will have little activity or even no activity during the night, because there is no sun that would energize its panels.
Each advantages and disadvantages of the solar fountains have their reasons, and they do not simply put down the quality of such fountains. The shortcomings of this kind of fountain can be compensated by its own assets. The solar fountains may have their own ups and downs, and it is only right that people must weigh first each pros and cons before finally deciding to own one.
